Why You Might Be Missing Credits and What It Means

Why You Might Be Missing Credits and What It Means

If you’ve completed a 3-year degree like BBA, B.Com, B.Sc., or BA in India, you probably have only 140 ECTS credits — Germany requires 180 for Master’s entry. This missing gap means your application can be rejected before it’s even reviewed.

Participants in the program are not enrolled students and are not treated in this way legally or organizationally. Participation in the program does not entitle to immediate transition into another academic program at S-Next or another university as the participants are not enrolled students and have not been checked for admission criteria such as the German Higher Education Eligibility (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung / HZB). It may be, that participants complete the course successfully but do not in any way meet the reqirements for enrolment at a German university.

The Certificate awarded comes from S-Next and not Steinbeis University. Since S-Next is not a University itself, certificates awarded by us do not formally indicate ECTS-Credits as this is a prerogative of recognized Universities. Consequently, in the Certificate we only indicate the Workload of 900 hours, not the ECTS Credits for which these courses should be recognized.

Recognition of credits is a formalized procedure regulated by the Lisbon convention for the European Higher Education Area. All universities in this area must adhere to this process, according to which recognition of credits must be ensured. Non-recognition requires the University’s proof of non-compatibility of the elsewhere acquired skills and competencies. As long as we provide our participants with full documentation of the learning outcomes based on our accredited module descriptions, recognition of these credits should not be refused.

However, the decision about recognition is always in the authority of the recognizing institution and can therefore not be guaranteed by S-Next in any way. Depending on the nature of the program applied for or specific admission requirements, it may be that either the competencies, or the credits acquired through the MBP do not suffice for admission. S-Next does not take any responsibility for negative recognition or admission decisions by other universities.

NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN
